Abstract

Mark Windworth, was not a marquess. There was no reason to call him “my lord”, so when Isabella Middleton, the beautiful but proud and haughty daughter of the Duke of Wellingshire insisted on calling him that, he couldn’t help but respond in kind by calling her “marchioness”. Afterall they were betrothed to be married sometime in the future. Now six years later as she again calls him “my lord”, he wants to make her his marchioness in reality. Has he finally gone ahead and fallen for her charms?

Cassandra Livington is a poor governess with a forgotten past and a lost love. But her present is lovely as the beloved daughter of a bereft Duke and a foster mother to his two grand children – Alex & Nina. She may be posing as Isabella, but she could ask for nothing more in her current life than to be united with her lost love. Then when a handsome lord calls her a “marchioness” why does she want to become one for him?
Will Mark be able to overcome his past grievances and get ready for a life as a peer of the ton with a lady by his side? Will Cassie be able to overcome the shadows of the past and shadows of Bella? Is Mark falling for Cassie’s face or her persona? Will Cassie ever become for Mark – his marchioness?

Storyline

Mark Windworth had stayed all his life in the Americas and returned back to England with his sister Maria to his uncle, Marcus Windworth, the ninth Marquess of Bellingham after the death of his parents. Maria falls in love with Anthony, the Marquess of Bringham, the son of Marcus’ best friend, Robert Middleton, the Tenth Duke of Wellingshire. They get married. Marcus dreams of another wedding in the family of Mark to Isabella, the daughter of Robert. But Mark and Isabella don’t get along. This time he meets Cassie and thinks Bella is alive. Realizes mistake, falls for Cassie. Cassie has a past – was in love with Darrin. He led her on and then left her. She is devastated and ruined, goes to work as governess. She gets new job in Duke’s family & gets accepted as daughter there.
